I have a large lot of stamps from 50s and 60s, mostly from Africa and British Territories, like St. Helena, Swaziland, Zanzibar, etc.

I have quite a large number of larger blocks of 4-8 stamps, I've attached a picture of a couple of examples.

Anything to look out for during that time. Are the larger blocks of stamps worth anything extra? Most appear to have never been hinged, and most have no cancellation mark on them.

Here's another example, this is a full block.

Hi sonician,

Sorry to disappoint but I don't think there'll be any premium for these stamps in blocks.

I would tend to agree. Unless they have some of the surrounding borders from the edges of the sheet (selvedge, it's called) - which may be more attractive to some collectors.

There are some with the sheet edges still attached as well, moistly small blocks of 2 or 4 stamps.

I was looking at individual prices on stampworld, and was curious if I would multiply the value by the number of stamps to get a rough idea?

So if one is worth $1, then a block of 12 should fetch about $12?

Thanks for the responses! This is all really helpful.

Catalogue prices do not, in general, reflect the market price. I'm afraid you're looking at a few pennies.

The problem with stamps from Africa is that they are easy to find and very cheap. So, about catalogue prices, if a stamp worth $1, so MAYBE you can sell it for $0.10 or $0.20... Good look!

Do you have the full St Helena or just the low face values?
