So I finally sat down to organize and add some stamps to my US album deciding to pop in a dealer's special I got. I didn't expect much but then I found what LOOKS like an 11a, I think? But it has perfs. I'm not able to get to my Scotts at the moment so I went online and can't find any with perfs. Since it's totally possible I'm misidentifying until I can get to my catalogs I thought I'd see if anyone knew what's up with this baby?

Sorry for pic quality. I'm not used to taking close ups with my phone. I think the date's showing 1860?

This design was issued perforated as well as imperforate. The major Scott numbers for the perforated issues are 25, 25A, 26, and 26A.

Thanks Rhett!

I'm thinking I might need to invest in a specialized catalog with all the varieties I'm seeing. Classics are going to be a hard study for me but already worth it.

A scott US Specialized catalog is a great help. You dont necessarily need a brand new one either. You can pick up a used one, several years old on ebay for a song. That's what I did :)

Thank you all!

I knew classics were more of a challenge but the franklin/washingtons are blowing my mind. But little bit at a time and all, right?

'Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first steps.' Or something like that. It's a fun learning journey and the fact you are in this Forum shows you are off to a great start!
