I did the WM test and no WM....just want a second opinion..is this stamp a 482a?

The easiest way to tell the difference between #482 and #482A is to look at the button on the toga. The shading lines on yours are weak, so it's a #482. The shading lines on a type Ia/type II stamp are much stronger (you can even see the difference on the small picture of #482A on mdroth's link).

Thanks you all, sure glad I could consult with experts, one question, should the stamp have a WM? Boy I sure was excited last night when I discovered it in a lot of stamps at I purchased at an estate sale..
Oh well that's half of the fun trying to find treasure I reckon..thanks again..

If it had a single line watermark (or any trace thereof), it would ba 409. A common issue with a CV of $1. The 482 without a watermark is also common issue, with CV of $1.
