There is an unpublished listing that was done in the 1950's, so not complete. There are no prices. The Bureau Print precancels are in the precancel society catalog and those are priced. *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. ***

Mike,

Ron is probably referring to The Precancellations of the Playing Card Companies of the United States 1894 - 1956, by Clarence Henry Chappell, printed in 1956. It is apparently a rare book.

There is also a 32 page list by Andrew Cooper, which was printed in 1992, which is similar to Chappell's book.

I'm using both as references for something that I'm working on.

Jim

Bumping this thread.

Does anyone have a copy or digital copy of either of these documents?

Thanks in advance!

The ones printed at the BEP are listed in the PSS Bureau precancel catalog. Many are scarce. The locally printed ones are not widely sought and not usually costly.

Chasa,

Thanks!

I already have the Bureau precanx (all but one - yes I have "that" one) and am trying to organize the others (non Bureaus).

I know the scope is overwhelming but am after a list to at least see what canx are known on which stamps to decide how foolish I'm gonna get.
