Hello All,

I'm wondering if this stamp has a print error.

The swan on the left, the lead swan appears to be blue.

I believe both of the swans should be white, but I'm no expert.

I have attached pictures of the front and back of my stamp, as well as a snapshot of the stamp taken off of a stamp dealer's website.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this stamp has a print error?

Thank you for your time,

FoxxieAndMe

Your stamp is not an error, but almost certainly damage from periodic dampness riding around in a hunters wallet for a season. It was next to something blue which bled onto your stamp (and not a blue license paper, which would have also stained the back side).

You may get other theories in the coming days, so don't just accept the first opinion as absolute. Although these were expected to go into the field in all kinds of weather, etc.

About 25 years ago I attended a hunting show in southern Ohio. I was looking for federal and state stamps on license. I wanted items in excellent condition, yet was surprised when I ran into one attendee who wanted only licenses which showed substantial "field-wear", to coin a term. He would have sold his mother for one with a bullet hole and blood staining!
