I too concur that the OP's original images do point to Type II characteristics. If true, this limits the possibilities to a rotary press coil or coil waste stamp. I am not inventing any new varieties, but rather made an observation that the bottom edge of the stamp appeared rough and to have possibly been trimmed. Additionally, I see no clear evidence of a watermark. Honestly, I don't think a positive ID is possible with the existing images- the stamp needs to be examined in-person.
Thanks Reedededge; If I would say that I would be accused of inventing it also, being so bias. I agree it should be checked out by a professional in person. This stamp is 25mm long if that helps. I do appreciate all the help on this crazy stamp it seems to be a hot topic. I can see why ,a ghost image now you see it and now you don't,it would frustrate anyone. I think finding the best way to find a watermark would be very helpful to everyone.
