Hi everyone;
I have another puzzle .
I have this stamp it has a postmark right where the identification
marks are suppose to be ..
I read the post here by Lukusw about type 1a ,type 1 characteristic's
of 499,of 500.
What I took away from this thread is some 499's are very similar ,
but the most characteristic marking my be the ring around the button.
and the thick paint.
It was a very good article.
I'm thinking that this stamp has a very different look than any other
a140's, It has a very thick ink print.
I tried to use my photo shop to see if I could bring out the
lines under the postmark .
Check it out I think it helped but I think Im going to try other
technique's but if you have a idea's that would be appreciated. Anything that might bring out the lines
It seems like its do able .
Thanks for listening
Dan

Looks like an off-set printing to me. Type VI-#528A or Type VII-#528B. Click onto each of the numbers on the stamp on this link to see the characteristics for each type of the off-set printings.

Yes it does look like a VII
So many stamps that look so much alike !!!
It still would be nice to have a Xray machine or something.
