Can I please get an expert's opinion about part of my inherited stamp collection?
I'm still a beginner and I've been struggling with sorting through the 4000+ stamps that I was given. They came to me halfway organized and I don't know what to do with all of them.
I'm only posting a small portion of them to not overwhelm anyone. Also, I set them up in numbered rows and columns for the single stamps, and for plate blocks, they are numbered T1-5 for reference purposes. I hope the images are clear enough to understand.
If anyone has an answer for me about all of these, or can identify one or more specific ones of value, it would really help me a lot!
On a quick glance I can't see anything of great value but it does look like you've inherited a good USA collection. Please keep the photos coming, particularly of the older material
Unrelated to your collection but seeing your avatar of the large Monaco stamp brings back chilling memories. When I was about 10 years old and beginning collecting I used to actually glue used stamps in the album AND if they were mint, I'd lick them! This particular stamp had such bad tasting glue that I can remember my reaction 60 years later. :)
Brooke, Since you are a beginner, I would like to point out that you should definitely NOT glue, tape, or lick any stamps in your collection. That will definitely ruin them. Also a good way to learn about some of your US stamps and to help organize them is to get a copy of Mystic's US catalog. You can request a printed version from Mystic Stamp Co. or get an online version. Both are free.
