It is QL in rays, well worn, most likely used at Brisbane.

I have this cancel (or at least a similar looking one) on Queensland chalons. There is also a QL cancel that looks like the Brunswick star cancels from Edinburgh!

It looks like ELL but upside-down. I have no idea what ELL is though, other than it's a part of a word.

Guess:

1/- High rate, perhaps bank use? ie "CANCELLED"

Boxed Registration strike (albeit never seen a boxed type)
nor, any strikes in purple.

If a Queensland place name, then can be 1 of 50 which include ELL

Normal registered hand strikes in black

Lovely item Rod, most interesting! I have a few NSW stamps with part of the two line registered cancellation showing but the handstamp is usually found on the envelope, but I don't have one of those......yet......
