Kevin-Eric, You are going in the right direction. There are two different typing issues here: 1. Your stamp has Schermack type III vending machine perforations, the rectangular slots at left. 2. Your stamp also has a Roman numeral type designation for the engraving details of the stamp itself. In this case, it is a type I (not a type 1A, as you hope). It will be Scott 409 or 482 depending on the watermark (or not) in the paper. Both varieties are worth about 50 cents. (Note the Roman numerals for both type designations.)
