I was checking the Steiner page corrections and noticed an update on early New Zealand 1855-71 issues. It looks like an entire series (Full face Queen) had been redone.

The correction file name is cor042819.pdf

How to edit a PDF to add catalog numbers

Open the PDF in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader

Select "Tools" option. In tools view, select "Comment" to switch to Comment mode.

In Comment mode, Select "Aa" to set font characteristics

Select the "T" and the cursor should change to an Insert icon For me sometimes it does not change to the Insert icon so I have to do it more than once to turn on entry mode.

Position the cursor to where the text will start (visually center) and then type in the number.  Save the file to save input

Save your changes

There are also free converters out there (e.g. LightPDF) that will convert a PDF into DOC, so you can change it in Word (or Open Office). In case you want to do more significant changes to the Steiner format (e.g. change font, border style).

Sure - I use https://lightpdf.com/pdf-to-word but there are several out there. I found this one to do the best job for me.

Choose the PDF file, it will covert it into a Word file (DOCX). Once it's done, click the down arrow button to save the Word file on your computer, and then you can edit it as you like. You could do the same with something like LibreOffice of course, I just happen to have Word installed.

For editing in Word, I apply a template with my preferred font, larger size for the country name and slightly fancier border. Also put the Scott # in the stamp box. The Steiner pages are extremely convenient, but I really don't like the font they use by default. I also sometimes split up a page, as I find the Steiner ones sometimes crowd too much on a page, or conversely, I remove a stamp box for one I'm never going to get.

If I want to edit a PDF beyond adding cat numbers, I use LibreOffice. When you open the file in LibreOffice, it converts to Libre Draw and then you can edit.

The Acrobat method is simple and quick for the basic task to ADD text to an unlocked PDF.
