Picked up this Sc# 96 that was cut way off center. In the process of cutting there is a large section of grill on the one side and roughly 2 columns on the other. Does that make this stamp a split grill?

Looks like 17 rows, but I'm unsure of the number of columns.

Moyock13, Yes its a split grill. Yes it is 17 verticle. So process of elimination, only the E and F grill have 17 verticle. Hard to say with the split but looks like 12 which would make it an F grill (12x17 points down).

Just thinking out loud here but I vote 'Split Stamp' as opposed to split grill. Scott's definition of a split grill is one "...caused by a sheet being fed under the grill roller off center." In this case the misperfing appears to be the reason for parts of two grills, not the grill roller being off center.

I believe I concur with Caper123 and the split stamp. it is misperfed and the grills do coincide with relative centering. Interesting.
