That is not a red overprint on the stamp ,it is a typical revenue cancel .

The yellow stamp has a overprint that I am not sure of .

There was a large Japanese Occupation overprint in Japanese letters that took up four stamps in a square but not sure if the lettering is the same as yours.

None are overprints.
Both are Revenue cancels as suggested.
The handwritten on the yellow most probably originated on a cheque. (From HSB ...Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp)
(Needs confirmation)
From my collection.

Is a revenue cancel the same as a regular cancel so it is just a used stamp or is it classified as a different stamp number because of revenue cancel.
I only work with Scott price guide and don't see revenue listed .

Thanks for all the quick response sent

bbirds,
considered the same stamp, but different usage, Stamps cancelled as Revenues are not used to carry postage, so receive their catalogue value differently.
Lots of early stamps had dual use, Postage or Revenue, after a while you will become accustomed to, and recognise, Revenue style cancellations.

Single use Revenues, usually indicate their fiscal usage aboard.

As Rod says, revenue use means that the stamp is no longer a "postage" stamp, and falls outside those valued in the catalogue. In practice, revenue cancellations may be the only practical means for most to obtain the higher values in many BC sets, as they sell for a small fraction of the price of postally used examples.

I have a lot of everything common, but with each country, dig down to the scarcer material, and naturally, I am lacking, even with Turkey.
Lots of collectors here, with more than I, but that's OK, as long as it remains fun.
