Hello fellow Stamp masters,

Can you help me to identify this stamp? It has the currency "Groschen" printed on it but is missing the denomination.
Is it just a 1 Groschen Stanmp? Or is there some sort of printing error?

ThankS!

You mean because of the Currency used being Groschen?

Maybe the pair is from a toy, a toy post office.

In these toys, stamps were often used, that looked a lot like actual stamps.

Just a thought.

There is also room in the middle to write down how many groschen.

Kind regards,

Johan.

Without some kind of corroboration, everything is speculation, of course.

I believe these are Austrian, because of the currency, paper, design, and perforation. Since there is no country or state name on these, I think they are probably of private issuance.

In the U.S., business and secretarial schools had similar labels made for practice of office skills. In Europe, clubs and organizations had dues books where "paid" labels were affixed.

Since they are inscribed "Briefmarke," perhaps these had a training usage. If they were private courier stamps, one would think they would have the company name and value (pre)printed on them.

Google translate says that Briefmarke Groschen is German for Dime Stamp.

I do not think the OP's stamps have anything to do with childrens post.
The OP did not give any information on the dimensions or the perforations.
Most of the childrens post(not all) are marked as such.
Also the perforations in the OP's are very small compared to the childrens post types..
Littlefolks post
childrens playtime postage
Toypost
liliput
Kinderpost
______to name a few.
I would go with bookbndrbob's analysis that they had a particular usage...
