Scott 44A - Shaded Area - Oddity..?

I came across one of my Scott 44a stamps and noticed a shaded area on the left numeral...(reminds me of the Nova Scotia Scott 11, shaded area)...I borrowed the cleat stamp from Archives Canada to have a clear look at this stamp...Might be nothing, but very interesting.

To me, the shaded area here looks to be part of the postmark

You are probably correct...Took many colour captures and a couple were close to the cancel colour...Only posted because the shaded area followed the curve of the top of the numeral 8...Big coincidence.
