On the left I see 191, on the right 193. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance!

I think it's plate 191 , but on the plate number on the right hand side of the stamp the second "1" has an extra short horizontal stroke makiing it look a little like a three but the down stroke, i.e. the second "1" is straight.

Some time ago I had about 1750 of these to look at.

I found out that looking at them at an angel often made it easier to see the plate number(s).

I agree with the 191

It's plate 191.

Leftmost shows an earlier Penny Red without inscribed number to show the white dashes in the diamonds. Their position is the same on every stamp.

The middle is position KK showing that dash in the diamond. There's a definite "1" in the diamond.

The rightmost is the subject stamp. Again, compare positions of dashes. Parts of the cancel covers enough spots to make the white parts looks like a "3", though not exactly to me.
