Hi
When I got out my stamps from my Nan recently they been away for a few years I'm currently sorting them into country's and such to put into stock books I have thousands it's very exhausting as pretty much all of them were in shoe boxes I have only 7 stock books at the moment but I will hopefully have them all set out nice. Once I've completed doing this I do want to sell them but for now I'm having so much fun sorting them. I wanted to show off what I have done so far and wondered if I should post the pages I've done on here would this be allowed?

Yes, pictures are great. But sorting, identifying, and classifying is where the fun is.

I'm not a worldwide collector, but my untutored eye spots stamps from El Salvador, Pre-WWII Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, Ecuador, China (?), Japan, Togo, Belgium, and Afghanistan. And I'm sure I missed some. I bet when you are finished going through these, sorting, identifying and classifying, you'll find that you have a heck of a stamp collection! Would love to see more as you enjoy this adventure.

It was enjoyable to see your pics, keep up the good work! Chances are by the time you get them sorted and organized you'll be well on your way to becoming as addicted as many of the folks here. Have fun!

If your intention is to eventually sell the collection I would recommend you use individual stock pages rather than bound stockbooks. Stockbooks with a mixture of countries don't sell as well as a group of stock pages dedicated to a single country. I do pretty well with stock pages but usually take a beating when I sell an entire stockbook.

Thanks for the photos! Really hope you decide to keep them and collect, but let me know if you need any help with Ecuador should you decide to sell them. One of the few non-US countries I collect but will be glad to help you get the most out of them.

Bud, I spotted a Philippines under Japanese occupation and a Vatican city in there too. :-)

Looks good. I have one bit of advice. I know space is at a premium for you but building a lot more space between countries will be helpful if you find a whole bunch of stamps for those countries later on.

Thanks again for the additional photos. You sure you don't want to get in to the hobby? Just glancing at your US stamps, there does not appear to be anything valuable there. A few of the red 2 cent Washingtons might have some value, but you'd have to get in to some detail as the Washington/Franklin series has lots of different variations. Might be worth looking up!

You also have the start of nice set of pre-cancels from the 1920's in the US stamps. Again not a lot in terms of monetary worth, but fun to collect.

Would someone be able to identify the stamps with "Lundy" and the puffins on them for me, please? Need some of those!

Keep posting, Bettie Boo; always fun to see what other people have. Cheers.

Very nice. I like what you have done so far. Makes me jealous.

Im jelous of everyone who has inherited some kind of collection. The one my mom worked on was taken by either my dad or brother to just make a few $$.

They're local issues from Lundy, an island in the Bristol Channel off the coast of England. Here's an illustrated online catalogue:

And here's a thread on Lundy stamps:
