Part of a lot I picked up a little while ago contained these 4 stamps with the inscription "The convention on the rights of the child" celebrating this from UNICEF but with no country indication.

Any ideas where these belong, or are they just recycling :)

Hi kernelgui,

These are specimens of a 2002 set from Tuvalu, Scott #882-885.

The arms in the corner are those of Tuvalu but I wouldn't have known this if hadn't looked it up just now!

Thanks Nigel,

I am very picky about placement of items in my collection. These were the only items in my lot of about 3,000 that I couldn't identify and got tired of looking after carefully identifying about 100 GB Machins :). Out of morbid curiosity how were you able to locate these so quickly given that you didn't recognize the arms on the stamp either?

I see even the non specimen stamp does not bear the country name. Very strange for a non GB issue.

Cheers,

Kernelgui (Neil)

Hi Neil,

I guessed they were from a Pacific nation, asked Google for the arms of Pacific nations, found the Tuvalu arms, then searched for the Tuvalu set of stamps, found a date reference and finally looked it up in Scott.

Well done you, Nigel.
My first reaction was to reference the arms, then I read your response.

Very unusual to have no country reference, keepers.

Tuvalu is sinking.

It does say Tuvalu on the coat of arms on the stamps.
