Hi guys

Everyone that collects Canadian stamps have at least used their web site once or more...Massive amounts of information to be had...It does have it's errors, oddities, etc.

I just looked at ONE area, Hamilton, Ontario.

HERE IS ONE POST OFFICE THAT HAS A DATE OF APPOINTMENT AS 1954-07-08 BUT AT THE SAME TIME HAS A VACANCY DATE OF 1954-04-29...???

HAMILTON-WEST SHOWS DATE OF VACANCY AS 1920, IT REALLY CLOSED 1979-10-29...???

HAMILTON SUB #7 SHOWS ESTABLISHED 1955-11-16 BUT SHOWS CLOSING AS 1929-07-10...???

HAMILTON SUB #9 SHOWS ESTABLISHED 1960-03-17 AND CLOSED 1960-00-31...???

HERE IS A COUPLE OF NEAT PIECES OF INFO - HAMILTON (WENTWORTH) WAS ACTIVE FOR OVER 154 YEARS IF IN FACT IT DID CLOSE ON 1979-10-29.

HERE IS THE HAMILTON SUB #2 THAT MOVED 7 TIMES A FEW FEET AWAY FROM THE LAST STATION IN 71 YEARS...EXPENSIVE MOVES I BET.

Those oddities are just from ONE postal area, Hamilton..How many more exist across Canada.???

Robert

Robert, check out the date of birth of Dominic D'aurello for the two periods he served in the first one. Was unaware you could have two birthdays 6 months apart!
