As said before, color monitors do not offer a good comparison. To me, it looks slightly oxidized, but the second one appears to be "redder". |

In my opinion... Orange stamps are susceptible to sulphurization, plus trusting an images to ID a stamp color is a crap shot (at best). Unless this person has a large reference collection and years of color study/experince, I would be dubious. Don |

My 1979 Stanley Gibbons Stamp Colour Key's 'Indian Red' is far from the two samples you are showing Robert. Of course, my computer screen may not be showing true colours. On my own screen, I see that the posted colours are lighter than the actual Key's colours. Paul |

Most of the listings of 37b's on ebay are misidentified, including the two in the OP. Adding scans of a Munsell chip here is confusing as the colour will always be "off". I guess there is some value seeing shades beside each other, just don't hold your stamp to a monitor hoping to colour match. The 37b is sharply printed, on a specific paper, and the shade has a slight bluish cast not seen on other 37s. Experience will be your best teacher. |

This is my copy of 37d copper or Indian red, perf. 12.5. It is a certified copy and I picked it up for 15c many years ago from an APS circuit book. It is dated MA 3, '70. As said before color will vary depending on your operating system and monitor but this might give you an idea of what the color should look like. |
