Hey everyone take a look at this is this some impostor? No its Ben Franklin with one cent 1 a 331 design or 414? Neither, or both? Is this a stamp that was a experimental? It features a i.r overprint in red on all five stamps I have one hand cancel and cancellation in the background I believe received or mailed California has anyone knowledge they can assist me with the facts on these i.e overprint i.r. in red is that internal revenue or u.s.i.r.? Water marking this was from my collection I inherited and many of my cancels are military as was a relative was in the military for thirty sum years and sent many envelopes letters and post cards from the times. Anyway, I will try and get the pictures here been having a bit of trouble getting them from computer to post for some reason. And if I cannot does somebody have any info: thank you so kindly!

You should post this under US stamps, and try using lower case too.

Very difficult to understand, but I believe the original poster is talking about US Revenue stamps overprinted I.R. Look in Scott starting at R153 to see various stamps with red, green, and maybe even magenta overprints.

Fatherkinds, welcome to the forum. If you own a Scott catalog try to find your stamp in the 'revenue' section. Of course, a picture would always help a lot more
