Help Please ..scott 65/67/? Scott 499 ? And A Coil Waste Category

iv been brushing up on my photoimaging skills a little.

could you please help me identify these 3. Obviously im not looking at value. so please be kind. right now I dont have any watermark fluid. I was told hydrogen peroxide but I dont want to lose the cancel? Im not sure about watermark but it is very grainy on the back. yes thats the remnants of graphite pencil with no rubber!

the 2nd has been difficult to assess for me as I have many 1c franklins. im hoping its ? for some reason I have 420 penned next to it..
and the 3rd I really like it. a lot! I like the perfins which has more holes than normal so maybe suggesting an earlier 12+? it looks like JH
so im guessing vaguely 499
. or 332?

Please don't use that, it will remove all your stamp image.

thanks rod, oh sorry bout the numbers? I really thought I had a handle on it but noooo.
Il probably leave it for now. if I cant place a catalogue number dont think I should attempting to find a grill or a watermark. I think il call my self 2stepsback!.

Hydrogen peroxide will not remove the stamp image, but I agree with rod to not use it.

You can learn more about your second stamp here http://stampsmarter.com/1847usa/192...ntifier.html. It is not a coil waste stamp. It is best to always start with the assumption that you have the most common variety since this is what happens 99.9% of the time.

No, it is used on some older orange ink stamps to 'reverse' the oxidation/sulphurization process.

lostandfound - use lighter fluid (Ronsonol seems to be the preferred brand) or Clarity watermarking fluid for seeing watermarks.
