Thank you, KVG Collector for your comment! I have the feeling, I have seen a stamp like that somewhere else, so it should be regular, yet I need to check. |

OK, how about this stamp with the second 'N' in 'penny' turned into a merged 'E+V'? In addition something weird by the right value tablet and copartiment dots and dashes top and bottom right. I think this is a real variety, but my SG does not mention it, or I simply do not see it mention it. Thank you in advance. |

Yes! CollGStamps!
I do not even have to look for this constant printing flaw it is called........ "Penavy"
In the most common shade a $20 stamp.
Looked for an example but could not find one. Even though there is some other white marks in the area I would still call it a real Penavy!
Another nice stamp to add to the collection. It is also a very popular and well known flaw! |

It was midnight when I last replied.
This morning or what is left of it I have found the example in ACSC and the extra white markings around the "AV" in penny is also apart of a constant printing flaw that is called penavy. |

Hi Aussie Al
Yes my eyes did not like the shape at 1st.
For me to the feel of the paper was the most upsetting about the release. Interesting you mention that!
It is also interesting that Australia Post has 17th July 1914 as the release date of the KGV issues.
I might have it wrong but I was of the opinion that there was never a date of release from Australia Post for KGV's before this one.
I am going to get some 17th July cancels on some of this release. |

Afternoon all, Finally got round to doing a photo of an oddity from my Australian KGV heads. It is an imperf 1/2d green, on very thin grease-proof type paper, and has no noticeable watermark. I assume it is a cut-out from postal stationery, postmark date seems to be Feb 1918. Can anyone give me the origin of this one? Thanks in advance. DavidR |

Interesting trying to get a name for the cancel.
* ICH
The * looks to me to be part of "W"
So the name for me would be Ipswich which is west of Brisbane Australia. |

Thanks KGV Collector! Hadn't spotted it could Ipswich. So is my guess right, that this is a cut-out? Was rather hoping it was a previously un-known imperf variety! |
