This will Be fun. But think that tub of territories will be more interesting.

Need to get my wife on side to really tackle that room of plastic tubs so as to find out what is in it all.

Wow! Have sold a large amount of Australia kiloware over the last couple of weeks. Nice amount of funds to further the horticulture side of things.

Have a look at the Australia KGV 1914-1938 side face watermarks on Page 2. It is worth a look it watermarks are a bit puzzling.

This thread seems to get left in the background these days. An amazing time it was putting this together. Great to have Rod222 support in doing this work.

All this info was on the tip of my tongue back then!

Always Happy Stamping.

I just stood on the shoulders of Orlo-Smith, he did the hard yakka.
200,000 Sidefaces I heard he had access to. Maybe gossip.

Thanks Rod

Will have to do search on Mr Orlo-Smith and refresh the memory.

This is from Page 5 About KGV penny reds

Quote:
A Mr Blogg in the 1920s documented the cream of 2 million penny reds & described 422 shades.

The lack of red ink from Germany during WWI led the Australian Penny Red Printer to mix inks. Blues, purples, pinks, yellows, brown etc. These caused many shade groups. Maybe we can call Mr Blogg the first penny red Bloggist. KGV

Was looking at what is left of my KGV's today.Still have most of the stamps that are posted on this thread. But I think I will wait before looking seriously at that plastic tub of KGV's for when my grandson & granddaughter are old enough to get a buzz out of them. If I wait I can have that buzz as well, with them.

Hi Rod

Of all things to forget is that amazing colour chart of Orlo-Smith you posted on page 2 with the printed information about that colour chart. A treasure!
