Two Colors Of 65p4 - Is One "Lake?"

I have two plate proofs on card both labeled "65P4." 65P4 is listed as Rose in my 2019 Scott's Specialized. One of these looks like it is Lake (matching the color of 66TC3. This one is definitely on card (or maybe India on card?) and there is no 66TC4 listed. The color difference is too much to be a variation of the same proof.

Any idea what these are?

They are both 65P4's. They came in many shades. The Lake is very distinctive.

Here is my certed "Lake":



The image is close, but The Lake is darker. Check out the area under the top left "3". When I scanned it originally, here is what I saw:



After optimizing with Photoshop Elements, where you can bring out the pixels, you see the dark violet (almost black) that's defining the "Lake" color:



Now, we've had some debate on the scanning at this high of a dpi, and if Don sees this, I'm sure he'll comment.... :)
I've posted these before-- just thought I'd toss them out there again.

Philazilla, I have a proof with the same color as yours, and thought it was a 66 also, BTW!

I 'see all' because it is part of a Moderator's job to read every post!

I think your images are great and I encourage other to post like Ray has done here, identifying how the images were generated. This ensures that others will consider the image generation and makes it less likely that someone will simply hold their stamp up to their monitor and think 'a perfect match!'. (I get heartburn when images get posted that have clearly had various undescribed filters and other manipulations applied.)

In my opinion Lake hues are some of the easiest to ID to my eye, the distinctive blue/purple is hard for me to miss even in scanned images.
