I need help identifying this stamp which I believe is from Lebanon. Can someone please give me more info such as year of issue, number of stamps in set and possibly a catalogue number as it is not listed in Scott.

From my collection. Unaware of any catalogue of Lebanese revenues. Not listed with The Revenue Reverend. Maybe John Barefoot? Vignette |

Bump. Lebanon continues to use revenue stamps on documents. The attached here is from a trademark application filed in 2019. |

I believe that this is Duston AG 165, issued circa 1945. Fiscal Stamp, View of Beit-ed-Din Palace, 5p, violet on white paper. There is a lilac on white listed (165a). There are two perfs listed and there are type 1 and type 2 designs, with minor differences, type 2 being issued in 1949.
French Colonies Revenues (and Former Colonies now Independent) - North Africa and Middle East Colonies by Donald L Duston (2nd Ed. 2000) is the only reference that I know for Lebanon/Syria revenues. The catalogue is difficult to find, but is an invaluable resource for this area of revenue stamps.

Revenue stamps of Jordan applied to a legal document at the consulate in Washington, D.C., in September 2021. I wish I could retain things like this in my collection, but it must be sent onward to Amman and will disappear into government files there. |
