Finches

Looks like possible 5aL5. The break in the top frame, shade break in right wattles right of crown 10th line down plus I think I can see a small white spur on the bottom right of the left '1' in the LVT.

The shading flaw between the Emus legs is not as advanced as the checklist and there should be a white spur on the top margin above the first right wattle.

I would suggest the white flaws around the crown and AUSTRALIA are a 'tin shed' flaw.

Tasnaki,

*THANK YOU* for enlightenment, never considered 'Tin Shed' being the cause.

Agreed. Position 5AL5.

Perf is 14.25 x 14 comb.

Most likely ACSC colour is Purple-Brown (pale to deep) which makes the ACSC number 85B(5A)f - "Break in top frame right of crown". CV (2018) $Au35.

Date of issue April 1919. Your specimen's postmark looks like June 1920.

Thanks a bunch, Frank,
dashed if I could find it, in my 2007 BW.
Must be a new listing from thence.
