All,

I would like to get another Platinum binder to rearrange my pages from the normal Vols 1 - 7, but am less than enthused about paying $100 for a binder I don't "need".

I have seen several Lighthouse 13 ring binders for sale.

Does anyone know whether the US Platinum pages will fit and work in these other 13 ring binders?

I am hesitant to blindly buy as I am afraid they are intended for European sized paper and Platinum pages won't work.

Thanks in advance!!!

PS - anyone who has a spare Platinum album (regardless of color, but prefer blue) let me know!!!

My assumption would be not, as life's like that, but here are indications of the dimensions of Lighthouse pages

So many album publishers do this stuff. They seem to intentionally design a binder not interchangeable with any others, probably to sell more of their binders, until the publisher either goes out of business or the line is discontinued. Good luck finding replacements.

The rings are 270mm from center of the first ring to center of the 13th ring across the page.

Looks to be approx. 22.5mm center of one ring to center of the next ring.

For anyone with Lighthouse 13 ring binders - does that match up?

Good morning, StateRevs, I am measuring approximately 256mm from the center of the first ring to the center of the 13th ring of my Lighthouse 13-ring binder.

Update - success!

After more than 15 years of refusing to pay $100 for a used Platinum album on ebay, I was shocked to see not one, but two albums, with pages and dust cover, for $25 post paid as a buy it now!!!!

This was a case of I "wanted" another album to reorganize, but I didn't "need" another album.

I had to read the lot a few times trying to figure out what was wrong with it. At some point I decided it was worth it and hit the BIN button.

I would have preferred it to be blue like my other 7 albums, but in the end, I have decided I don't care that it is red and it actually makes it easier.

What I did is take all of the BOB pages out of the other 7 blue albums and consolidated them all in the new red album. Much, much better!

For those that don't know, the Platinum albums were broken down into 7 albums by years. Sounds easy enough, but I almost always grabbed the wrong album when looking for Officials, or Ducks, or Offices in China, or whatever I was working on. This means Officials are in 6 of the albums, and you have to know which one they are located in. After the 500th or so time, I decided I was tired of that and really just wanted to get them into one album.

Success, and it is so much better.

For those of you with Platinum albums, I have now learned I could have probably done it all along by simply combining books 1 and 2 into 1 album. When you take out all the Officials and Newspapers from album 1, there isn't that much left!

Now that I look at the BOB pages and see easy holes I should have filled years ago... Guess I need to go shopping!
