Any thoughts, the print looks ok although all other darrah stamps have
tighter spacing. this stamp seems to have larger spacing.

Please scan the stamp in an upright position.

The typeface looks correct but doesn't look like the typography/letterpress used for this overprint, but that may just due to the scan. If you could rescan upright and larger, it would be a big help.

There are a number of counterfeits of this and other "Darrah" overprints coming out of Europe and Canada on E-Bay. If it is different in any way from the accepted version it is not genuine.

it matches darrah overprints from major auction houses where there is no number value in the overprint; just shanghai and then china. The font looks the same but my two issues are the gap between the two is larger than the auction house samples and the plate block number doesn't seem to jive as well. Can't find a 13014 to match the two cent stamp. If the gap is different; then you suggest it is fake as well even if the font/typeset looks accurate? What do you think?

The imaged overprint is inconsistent with the overprints pictured from Siegel Auctions. Letters in the overprint pictured are not crisply defined and vary in size in contrast with the Darrah overprints pictured in the Siegel lot:

Darrah overprints from 1913 are found on perf 12 stamps. The image stamp is from a late perf 11 printing. Scott 499 plate numbers range from 7322 to 14025 except for the outlier plate 5990 that went to press in 1922, the last full year of production. The plate number makes the stamp a very useful reference item for an expertizer.

The A and I are tilted in relation to the rest of the overprint. That is almost always a bad sign in handstamp overprints, and always a bad sign in printed overprints.

my two cents worth is that it is not real based on the ones I have seen. size shape and spacing seem wrong. also I agree withh the perf and plate no. comment.
