No worries Rod.

Sometimes my explanations are not the best. But mostly I get there eventually with lots of SCF member help.

Both of your listings right now that are available to the US are on ebay US, I see them perfectly fine. You got a dunce ebay employee.

Am able to do the same now! Confusing. An ebay yes person makes sense. This is the 3rd different issue area that I have smashed in , in the last 3 weeks. And it hurts.Have fallen again.

ebay chat info. "The reason why the system hinder you to make purchase because you are not from US. The system detected that you are from Australia."

Then there is this sad ebay reply same chat. " No worries. I will have it raise to the products team for you."

Have been listing all my specialist catalogue's over the last 12 month to help fund our much needed home renovation.

The termites destruction on our home was much more than expected. It looks like am in the red for about $15,000 at this point but have made up a lot of financial ground over all.

We have had enough of debt holding us back for 38 years. Last year our home loan was paid out. Then having no debt at all. No cards at all. So I believe, very reasonably, we have enough stamp stock to fix that financial hole.

So I am twisting and turning selling around at different angles. Just generally challenging all the ways I currently sell to make sure I am on track. It is working and it will workout OK. It means I have to do something. The funds are not going to fall out of the sky. If I do not give in, it will all work out OK.

Just clicked on ebay.com and entered with a password, as a member and I am nailed still as from outside USA.

Check this out from my ebay.com search about free listings.

"If you're a private seller, you'll only receive zero insertion fee listings in the country of your registered address. For example, if you have a registered address in the United States, you'll only receive zero insertion fee listings on the US site, ebay.com."

Interesting that they say this. Does .com have free listings for USA people?

"you'll only receive zero insertion fee listings on the US site, ebay.com." Surly this is because I am not from the USA.

I still don't understand why you feel the need to do this.

Found 5 of the 6 items I am desperate to purchase that I have been searching for, for many years. Found them on .com but was not able to purchase even though the seller advertised free international mailing. Tried for 2 weeks to get those item purchased. Kept being told I could not purchase because I did not have a USA address.By not giving up I now have purchased them. It means something to me.

It is all about marketing for me as well. The Australian market place is very small compared with the USA and being more specific UK & Netherlands. Also with UK & Netherlands their currency converts well back into the AU$.
Am using 3 computers to do my searches in many areas. Each computer ends up with different item for sale when I search for the same item.

To rely on ebay Australia as my only kiloware place to sell is extremely limited. So why not list direct onto other ebay's around the world. Had a very good look at many ebay's in different countries yesterday and have been very shocked at how bad a deal it is to have ebay stores with many of them. The stand out for not a good ebay deal to list is an ebay store is the USA..... the journey continues.

Have rushed this a bit. Am very busy next couple of day.

Hi Rod

Quote:
On the one hand, I see you as an ebay marketing expert,
then this?
I really don't understand your experience.
I have been a member of ebay dot com dot au for years.
If I type in "France collection"
I get listings from all over the world.

Am not doing a ebay search through the normal ebay system being logged into ebay and using their search engines.

Am doing a general search and .com was one of the searches findings and then gone in and found my treasure.

When I did a search on .com.au the .com listing did not come up.Even though one of the sellers had free international shipping.

Still flying over my head, John.
Can you offer me an example search text string
both on ebay and *.com please.

I used "France collection ebay .com"
Is that what you mean?

I clicked your link, ebay.com
All of the items in a cursory look, were items from Australia
Can you offer the text string you used on ebay.com, that would not allow you to buy please?
see if I can replicate.

As all of the other gentlemen have suggested, some vendors do not post to Australia it will be in the "postage" link in the item details.

Update: Aha!
I noted the page loaded from ebay.com with the box already ticked
"items within 200Km" from my town location
