Hi everyone - I did not realize that by posting a stamp on this forum it would attract comments as to why everyone thinks its reperforated. Well guess what - its not reperforated cause I have been looking at stamps since 1995 and it does not reperfed to me and less importantly two expertising committee's have attested to its authenticity so its got two clean certs from the PF and the PSE so ITS NOT REPERFED cause the two certs say its not, plus the stamp was sold by a major east coast auction house who might have noticed if it was reperfed. Thx Paul

While all that is compelling, people here have eyes of there own and are sharing there observations.

.....and this particular issue draws a lot of scrutinity since it is well documented that an extremely high percentage of them no longer have straight edges.

The age of the certs are important.

i echo rev collector in that the age of the certs is important. a scan of the rear would also help.

I have very limited experience but I did not think this had any characteristics of a reperfed stamp. It seems to me that if you need a committee of experts and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to decide such a question. The real answer should be -- who cares.

Hundreds of dollars worth of equipment is not needed. All that is needed are 2 or 3 used examples of the two cent Trans-Mississippi to compare the perfs, since no one is reperfing them. And a group makes it easier to prove that.

Well even though I have not been doing this since 1995, it seems to me that offering no reasoning for what seems like an off the wall claim, is hardly reasonable or credible.

The perfs on the right are exactly the same spacing and size as the ones on the left and perfectly parallel. Image below.

I have not compared the sides to the top but without having this in hand (and probably some pretty advanced optical equipment) I doubt much more can be deduced from the image posted.

If one of the posters sees something I didn't, I would like to hear some kind of rational analytical reasons. Not, "that I have been collecting for 25 years."

Ok members I will post the certs asap. I actually haven't yet only because I need to rescan them to get them under the 200kb size limit.

The certs are from the PF cert # 0275518 Dated 09/24/1993 and reads genuine and OG LH

and PSE cert 01334714 dated 08/29/2017 reads geniune and OG LH and VF80 grade

I bought the stamp from either Kelleher or Schuler Rumsey in 2018 or 2019. I also took a One cent transmissisppi and laid the 292 Cattle stamp on top of it and it matched the perfs perfectly. So again this stamp is genuine. I will post pics of the certs when I scan. Thanks Paul

ANd I paid 1,500.00 US $ hammer plus fees for this stamp - they don't come cheap and I had to beat out alot of other bidders.

The SMQ is $1100 so you overpaid but it is a nice stamp. That grade of that stamp last sold at Siegel for $950 + tip. The Posner name has no bearing on anything. The older PF cert does not have much use when it comes to reperfs. The PSE cert is your best documentation. Again, pretty stamp. Enjoy!
