Hi,

I found this coil 2c Washington that is perforated 11 horizontally. I can only find a coil that is perforated 10 horizontally in the Scott catalog (606). I am probably missing something obvious but can someone help me identify the perf 11 stamp. The photo I included shows the p11 stamp on the left and the p10 (606) stamp on the right.

Thanks!

David

Your ID of 606 is correct as the only coil in this direction.

Also correct, there is no perf 11 coil. What you have is damaged or trimmed stamp to resemble a coil, probably a 634 booklet stamp which would be be perf 11 at top/bottom and already have one natural straight edge and often comes fairly wide from cutting tolerances. I would throw it away as a damaged stamp.

Could it be a 554a that has been cut in two? (See image) There is no setoff ink on the back so it may not be flat plate printing though.
