Based upon some data I'm finding, and some verbal estimates,
I'm coming up with between 1300 and 1400...

Can anyone shed more precise light on this?

Thanks...

There were 107,398 souvenir sheets issued.
They were printed from 4 different plates of 100 (18770, 18771, 18773, 18774), each cut into 4 souvenir sheets of 25.
Thus 16 positions are possible.
2 of 16 positions (18774 LL 9 and 18773 LL 11) have the dot over S variety.
If all 4 plates were used equally (bad science, I know), the dot over S would appear on 2/16 of 107,398 = 13,824.75 souvenir sheets.
Printing data for each plate would yield a more accurate answer of course.

How are you getting 1300-1400?

Using 'bad science' as well...

In a conversation I had with someone awhile back, it was stated that
the incidence of the dot was 1 in 40 on 18773 and 18774, and zero in
18770 and 18771.

Not having any accurate data to go by, and using more bad science,
I divided full production by 4 : 26,849 per plate, and using the one
in 40, came up with roughly 671 each for 18773 and 18774.
