Hi All Glad to be welcomed into this community. After many years I have decided to go into storage and pull out my childhood stamp collection from the 50's. Getting back has been a re-education and I have mint stamps, as well as used. My question is this: I want to consolidate my world stamps and my us stamps into albums. Which do you recommend? In addition, wuld it be helpful for me to purchase a Scott U S pocket guide?
If you have a laser printer at your disposal, the Steiner pages (stampalbums.com) are an elegant and affordable solution. Just be sure to use a quality, acid-free paper to print the album pages on.
Gone are the days where you could just buy one of the larger Harris albums, tear into a packet of stamps, and find spaces for most of them.
Today's stamp hinges are likely to be big disappointment, too, compared to the easily-peelable hinges we had back in the day. I hope you still have a packet of good hinges stashed along with your collection.
