Requesting A Review Of My Plating On This Stamp Which I Think Is A # 10

So after looking over the recent discussion on the # 11, I went to stamp smarter in hopes of actually plating one of these stamps. I found 33LO which I think it may be. It has the right square box and inner lines. It seems to have a couple of small details which seem to correspond to the plated stamp. I hope I have hit the right image and would appreciate it if someone here would confirm that for me. If not might they help me properly plate it. Thanks very much!

Does not look like a match to me. The right side frame lines are not the same. The inner one particularly.

I haven't taken the time to narrow down the plate.

A much better image would be nice. It is definitely tempting to call this an OB stamp but the cancel is a big problem if it is what it appears to be. That style CDS didn't appear until sometime late in 1855. Late 1855+ would be an extremely late usage.

The style CDS that I am talking about is one that includes a year date.

I definitely agree on the cancel. 1855 or later.

Thank you txstamp,I was on the right track with what you gave me. I think, is it that the bottom left triangle is recut is the key? that is my thinking before I go to your stamp. thanks very much for your input and analysis.

For a stamp like this with a standard two inner line recut, some keys are -

- exact position of guide dot

- length, width, crookedness of inner lines. Sometimes I try to sight an imaginary polygon in between the inner line and the frameline. That sometimes helps add a second dimension, occasionally making it easier to see differences.

- relief. This was an A relief on Pl 2E, but is a B relief on 2L.

You will just need to study a lot of stamps, to get used to looking at some of these things. Use the Chase book, the stampplating website and stampsmarter.
