I've collected stamps during two periods in my life. As a boy I would visit the Philatelic Mall/shop in Northwest Houston that was inside of an old caboose. I collected world wide but focused on what I could afford with USA stuff in a Statesman album. Then a long lapse to my late 30s. At that time I was shopping the unbeknownst to me fixed auctions in Philadelphia at Apfelbaums. What happened there didn't affect me as I was a bidder not a consignor. At the end of that period while on a house call for my vintage clothing business I purchased a small box of approval cards and books from the late 1800s-early 1900s. Recently I came across them and have been selling off the international stuff on ebay and sorting through and adding the US stuff to my collection. I enjoy sell stamps on ebay, tho I admit I have a lot to learn!
Here's one "tragic" stamp from my approval card cache that frustrates me. Ha!
Thanks for having me,
Greg
