Cool thanks for the help. I know this is a 361. Yes there are small fibers on the stamp.

Not the only reason. The paper color is rather subtle … as others have noted, you need to include a known non-blue paper in the same scan/photo on an orange background. Then the experts here (I am not one) can give you a better informed opinion. But yes, probability alone makes the likelihood of the stamp being a genuine 361 astronomically unlikely. Think about it … exactly TWO used copies have shown up in over 110 years. Impossible … of course not. But don't you have to admit that it would seem just a wee bit unlikely? As I mentioned earlier, if you remain convinced that you have a real 361, you should have it certified … let us know the results.
ADDED: To be completely accurate, there are two known used 361s off cover. There are also 3 known on cover. Your example would be off cover.

Why even bother asking the question if you don't trust the answers you might get? If you are so convinced it's a 361 there are basically 3 options

1. File it in your system as a 361
2. File it in your system for what it actually is
3. Have it certified. If it is a 361 you will need a certificate to sell it.

I agree with redwoodrandy, 5 more pages of this is useless, I am this || close to just locking this thread. There is nothing productive in a thread where a poster asks for input but then rejects all the opinions that do not agree with his own. Nothing is learned and I cannot recall a time when a poster came back into the community and admitted they were wrong.
