I really can't agree with KGV Collector on his so-called ugly stamps. It just so happens that only this morning I was putting the "Development" series (his first pictures) in the album. I think they're well designed and colorful stamps, as are most of the Australian stamps. I'll probably croak before I get all three of my albums completed, but I'll go out smiling! Allan |

My family had a very bad stamping experience some time ago. Anybody can make a typo, have a bad day, write something that hits a nerve but I'm not talking about the normal ups & downs of family life.
Our younger children & my wife walked away from stamping because of this. The SCF theme threads have just started some talk amongst us again. The *uglies* seem to be something we all have an opinion on. Good, healthy debate. Thanks, KGV. |

Last year I ordered an Iranian stamp catalogue direct from Iran (we can do that in Canada, I doubt you can in the US). I was hoping it would be franked with some current commemorative issues, something I never come across. I got these hideous things. They're tamper-evident holographic labels - I haven't been able to find out much about them, though (they're not listed in that catalogue I bought!). In their mint state, they have a plastic cover on the stamp. If you peel off the plastic, it damages the hologram to guarantee that the stamp can never be used again. Here's what they're supposed to look like when mint (my copies are all the little rectangular one, none of the larger round ones were on the package). http://www.maganstamps.co.uk/IRAN08holog.htmI can't imagine anybody could find these things attractive in a used state. Yep! Their shockers Ryan! No I would not collect them by choice. An excellent post! Can not think of anywhere else you could post them. |

All pretty mediocre efforts so far, I must say. Now for a really ugly Ugly, how can one go past Kishangarh Gibbons T5? And if it's nasty cancellations, well look what they did to my Jammu & Kashmir SG 60 |

KGV Collector...I've been saying all along, my Australia collection are the best looking and most subject diverse stamps I have.

Now I think you've gone too far, Tony...after all, that is someone's mother-in-law, all dressed up in her Easter finery... ...which when you think about it, doesn't really make sense, for a stamp from India.
