Here is the upper part of the sheet for Germany French Occupation
Michel 2.

Michel has a Plateflaw in field 6 Kerbe im Wappen links unten
which google translates as Notch in the coat of arms bottom left
I see no notch so I suppose this PF was only in part of the print run.

These stamps were printed by the French State Printer via typography.
Designer Robert Louis and engraved by Jules Piel.
The format was the same as France used for it's own Coat of Arms definitive issues.

Germany French Occupation
Michel 7

PFI Frame upper right is broken Field 65

PFII Coat of arms edging over lions head is broken Field 85

Michel has PFIII on Field 99 Wappen oben eingebuchtet
Google translates as coat of arms indented at the top
Mine does not have this feature so it appears that this plate flaw
is on only part of the print run.

Thanks Hornet

Looks like there are more stamps with minor flaws
on this issue than "normal" ones without flaws.

Are these from Dr. Hans Flatters' Franzoesische Zone Handbuch und Katalog
which was mentioned by bookbndrbob on page 1 of this thread ?

Your red notations in the bottom selvedge mentions plate 1 and 12
and sheet A, AB

So 12 different plates were used in printing these ?
What is meant by sheet A, AB ?

Hi,

24-04 1947 to 29-04 1947 are Plate 1

Sheet type A and B

Only two Plates 1 and 2. So 12 and AB means both Plates and Sheets and yes Dr Flatters's book which is a old one.

Hi,

1- The position 55 is on BZ (Walzendruck) only.
2- Most common sheet to have this one is 5566 li ug (Three more have it: 5556 li ug, 566 li ug and 566 li ug).
3- Numbers means where are the digit of the sheet number. Your partial sheet as example two first digit beside 5th row and two last beside 6th row. So you have the 5566.
4- li (link), means left side of the sheet.
5- ug (ungerade), means odd number.

So you have it: 5566 li ug

Here same as your Position 97 which in fact is 97 B because can be combined with position 97 on same order number that is not on both, yours and mine.

Thanks again Hornet for the explanations how to read all this.
So the sheet number 9449 on the left margin and it's an odd number.

For the 920 12Pf my 2018 Michel Spezial only has
920 II fettes "T" in DEUTSCHE (Feld 10 Teilaufl., Retusche)

As you can see my field 10 has been torn off
