The bright blue is one of my favorites of the Admiral series. Everything is nice about that stamp. Wow. |

Yep a "squared circle" John. some nice contributions from all. I wonder hom many pieces the Postie from Jhalawar would have gotten? probably plenty of time to create a great cancel set.

Some of the 3-ring cancellations from Jammu & Kashmir on State postal stationary cards. First, between the two main towns (and the Summer and Winter capitals of the State), Jammu and Srinagar And between two villages in the southern (Jammu) part of the State: They may not look all that exciting, but they were a vast improvement on the previous rectangles of bars - you can see an example on the first postcard. |

And, Rod, if you enjoy squared circles, here's a nice example from Srinagar applied by favour to a reprint of an old Kashmir stamp (which was never valid for postage, and the originals of which had been withdrawn from sale years before 1891) |

Quote: A clear cancel on an old stamp. I collect Canada when I was young and it look like I was choosing nice cancel stamp sometime. Daniel This one is actually a precancelled stamp. Precancelled stamps were much less common in Canada than they were in the US (I've certainly never found a "pound of precancels" box here in Canada like I can in the States). You have precancel #3-111, with a catalogue value of $7.50 in my 2004 Standard Canada Precancel Catalogue (there's a new edition out this year). Ryan |

Thank you Ryan about the precancel stamp info. I didn't know a catalogue exist for that. I left a note in my Canada album. I collect Canada 30 years ago and then I stop collecting. I kept the album all this time and never collect Canada again. It's SCF that made me look at it. This forum is really great and I thank you all. Daniel |

Newfoundland stamp with a St Pierre et Miquelon cancel. Stamp is only partial there, it was peeled off the envelope leaving the back behind. Just found this in my picture archives while looking for something else, sold to a St Pierre collector in St Pierre years ago, which was part of the excitement of the whole thing for me. |

Unusual usage Puzzler. Funafuti on Gilbert & Ellice Pandanus issue. Funafuti of course is now the capital of Tuvalu. |
