Both of these items were posted from the same place. Each had a catalogue in the envelope but have been processed very differently by Australi Post. |

Thanks spock1k many of these stamps look better still on paper with the interesting postmarks to tell there postal story.
Rod you are looking at the beginnings of my brand new stockbook labeled decimal postmarks on paper. A fresh exciting attitude to incoming mail and decimals in bulk lots. You have converted my limited view in this amazing stamping area. Thanks mate! KGV |

I have to admit that some of the cancels on the covers some of you have scanned are plain 'yuck' <G>. However, having said this, I still think there is room for a collector to study just the "Spray-On" cancellations. A lot of possibllities with types etc are there. Maybe I'll start to collect the Canadian ones anyway becasuse they come my way so cheaply lol.

I very much like these postmarks. But how can Australia Post claim to be 200 years old when Federation happened in 1901 & the first Australian stamp was issued in 1913? Before this the states or colonies were in control of the mail & I also believe that some states would not accept a letter with another state's stamp on it. It had to carry the stamps of both states. KGV |

One of my favourite part strikes. Chill is one of my boys favourite sayings when things get a little heated and heading in a bad direction. In one of those bad family male moments I managed to show them this little gem and it really caught them off guard and instantly calmed things down and gave me a chance to reinforce that there's enough hate & revenge in the world without adding any more. One of those dad moments. KGV |

Some cancels that I'm partial to from the early 20th century... I'm glad someone cut this rather than soaked it...French Military occupation of Syria at the beginning of the 1920's... Sticking with a theme... And finishing off with... Collin |

Lovely scans Collin, I think Spock 1k has hit me with a memory-loss ray. What were those strips on the selvage referred to as? any idea? There is a specific name for them. (Not Jubilee lines) |
