PPG: Thank you for your comments about stamp real estate on packages and for the beautiful photos of stamp laden envelopes. You are a fountain of knowledge. Have you ever considered employment as a PR or media relations person for the USPS, maybe answering queries from often frustrated non-philatelist customers on social media?
This arrived this week with just a block and a single (proof) in it. Probably could have been sent by regular mail but not as fun. There are six different 49c stamps here with 43 in total.
The 3rd post on this thread shows a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope with a lot of stamps on it. If such envelope with many stamps, is it preferable to place stamps on the same side as the "To and From" section or on the other side?
I think it depends on the particular clerk you hand the item over to. In my experience at least one of my local clerks will not allow me to put stamps on the back side of the priority mail envelopes or boxes. They also don't want me to encroach into the To/From box at all, like that package apparently did. However I receive them quite often with stamps everywhere that were apparently accepted. I would recommend not covering any UPC codes or the words "Priority Mail".
I was mailing a priority flat rate bubble mailer and managed to use all my 50 state birds US stamps to cover postage. Most of it arrived unscathed, but quite a few fell off in transit. I covered all of one side of the mailer with them.
