Good morning!

While going through my grandfathers collection I've come across many pages of stamps that seem to be cut out of an album.

My question is: what is the likelihood that any of the stamps on these pages are desirable?

Some of then are in good condition, other's not.

For exmaple:

Interesting looking but I'm guessing that's it? Theres many more pages from all around the world. Historically interesting but probably little value?

Hello. What do you mean by "cut from an album"? That they're on old album leaves? Most stamps are "mounted", if by that you mean hinged.

If they were issued this way, imperforate stamps (stamps with straight cut sides) are legitimate stamps that were not cut out from any album pages.

Some imperforate stamps have been made by trimming the perforations off of perforated stamps. This damages perforate stamps.

Other stamps like booklet and coil stamps have one or two imperforate sides. Some sheet stamps have one or two sides with straight edges. These are all made this way.

For old mint stamps, both unhinged (unmounted) and already previously hinged (mounted) are very acceptable and collectible. Some very old rare mint stamps can only be found as having mostly been hinged.

However, never ever newly hinge a previously never hinged mint stamp since it will lose some of its value. This is mostly due to the gum being disturbed on mint stamps by hinging.

With regards to used stamps both old or new, unhinged and hinged does not make much of a difference as long as no damage has been done to the stamp by hinging.

With regards to new stamps and new issues that are mint never hinged post office fresh stamps where there are many copies around, hinging can sometimes reduce very common stamps into losing most of its collectable appeal and value and usually makes them into cheap bulk postal postage.
