These stamps are probably from Chile as they have Lima at the foot of the stamp. (Thanks Kirk for pointing out this fascinating thread!) |

Rod already mentioned Bosnia. There are also some early Serbian "orphans." (I don't have any of them, yet. Right now I am focusing on the 1960's Yugoslavia, and will work my way backward and forward from there. I started out with 1965, my birth year, as a focal point, and expanding outward.) |

The ones with Lima at the bottom would seem to point to Peru, not Chile. |

As for foreign countries (to me, anyway), Egyptian stamps have always confused me. Here's one I had a hard time identifying: As it relates to the United States, I believe this is the latest issue (Scott #1208) that does not identify a country name or abbreviation on its face: |

How about this? Stamps of typical perforation but without postage value commemorative sheet is offered in Hungary from December with the image of the late Steve Jobs. The Edition limited to 5000 pieces. Interesting, the Hungarians.... |

Here is a picture of 3 stamps from the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia. I found them while sorting this current accumulation. There are always some great surpises when working with my stamps. |

Yes, definitely Bavaria. Aren't they great?
For anyone who has only seen scans, it is interesting to see them in person...between the embossing and the larger size, they are striking pieces. |

stallzer, do not really know how to say this. When working at BMW I thought Bavaria was my Country but it is a state in Germany. Nice stamps. Will see if I find something on them. Briefmarken Bayern 1876 Telegraph MICHEL-Nummer:T16-20 |

Stallzer that last telegraph stamp with Emperor Franz Josef does have the country's name on it.
K.K. OEST. abbreviation for KAISERLICH & KÖNIGLICHE OESTERREICHISCHE etc... which tranlslates as Imperial & Royal Austrian Telegraph Stamp
Is the stamp printed lithography or (copper)engraved ? It appears to be worth quite a bit more if litho according to my 10 year old Austria Netto Katalog. Also the catalog states the colour as gray, yours looks muddy brown. |

No, it's Gray. Don't know if it's Litho or Engraved. If it's worth quite a bit more for Lithographed.....then it's probably Engraved :) |
