Hi there! This a 1862 italian Stamp and to me it seems to have a 2 embossed. Do you think this is a forged stamp?

This appears to be a newspaper stamp from Sardinia, issued January 1861:

Yes, 22Crows. I wasn't sure, but I guess it is from Sardinia. I'm just not sure if it is original.

This is supposed to be a rare error variety (embossed 2 on the 1 centesimi stamp) but the Scott catalog has the following disclaimer:


Quote:
Forgeries of the varieties of the embossed numerals have been made from printer's waste without numerals.


Any Sardinia experts in the house?

Unless it has an expert's signature on the back, I'd go on the assumption that it is a forgery.

Yes, Gmot. Great possibility. This is a 'lost' collection of a long dead relative. So I don't know much about its history. I know it was collected between 1935 - 1950 and that's it.
