Found this Scott 41 in my stock book.
Looks like there was a crease in the sheet, then printed and then the weight of the following sheets flattened the sheet with the crease.

Before I show you the pictures, wanted to show you a picture of the stamp while I was eating pretzels..Just for a laugh, eh..??

Anyways, this stamp had a crease in it before printing....The top to bottom average stamp picture is about 23mm....This stamp top to bottom is about 25mm.

All "CENT" letters are longer than the regular Scott 41...Nothing to retire on,but a keeper.

Robert, definite preprint fold. Is that a sealed tear on left half along bottom of scrolls just before the margin ? Obviously kept for that #5 barred circle cancel?

Forgot to mention that No1philatelist..It is another crease, not a tear.

It definetly extends the image. Little off topic- Did you put any bids into Eastern's auction yesterday or today? Bid on some items but unaware if I won any as I did not drive up to Halifax for this one.

I love pre-print folds. I only have one. I also like this thread because Robert is usually talking about fly specks that are to small for me.

I concur, thumbs up to this thread. It passes my personal test...'if I can see it with my unaided eye, at arms length, under office lighting'.

Good thread Robert. Here is the most dramatic of several pre-printing creases in my Small Queen collection.

Very nice fold over stamp Garfield...Make mine look almost normal.
BNAPS should do a newsletter on stamp fold over oddities.
