From 1960 to '92, the Postal Service put out a series of small souvenir cards, primarily commemorating philatelic exhibitions where they had a presence. These have been cataloged by the SCCS in the PS gallery --
http://www.souvenircards.org/gallery/PS/PS.html. But there were also a number of USPS cards issued by individual post offices in conjunction with major events in their cities, most often sporting events. From what I've seen, these were always tied with special cancellations.
I've been trying to compile scans of these cards, in hopes that we might also add these to the SCCS catalog numbering system. They are official souvenirs, after all, just not promoted nationally as part of the USPS annual program. Here are a few that I've come across. I also know they exist for the Super Bowl and the World Cup. Can anyone provide more images?
