Litho: I sure appreciate the fact that you put a catalogue number and/or a year on your submissions. It sure saves a lot of work when I want to find out more about this stuff on google. Thanks!

Andrew, thanks for the link to the Swedish Postal Museum.

It's interesting because it has a list of all the engravers who
ever worked on Swedish stamps.

Glad you guys like the link.
I found it a few months ago and only remembered it today! That engravers section is really nice. It shows the stamps issued from each engraver.
And the photos are great. Sometimes the lighting is too bright for some parts of the stamps so you miss the details.

Lovely sheet Russ. Any chance you could provide us with
some scans of the individual stamps?

That is a lovely sheet but then you would expect it to be I guess.

For something a bit different here are some from (former) French colonies.

The French certainly had their fair share of engravers and many
collectors favour them over others.
I like them also, mainly because their style is quite different
then compared lets say Swedish stamps.
Even though the Swedish engraved stamps are usually exquisite especially Slania's works,
after awhile I do want to feast my eyes on something else.
Variety is the spice of live. N'est-ce pas?

The engravers here have inscribed their name somewhere inside the lower part of the picture which differs from Swedish, Austrian & other countries where the engraver's name is almost always in the lower right frame.

There have been some great items over the years in that 'art' series.
Really good size as well for a stamp.

A couple of engraved France stamps I received on an envelope the other day. I particularly like the canal stamp. Great colours.

A pedestrian bridge over Ourcq Canal (Frence Canal de l'Ourcq), in Bondy, in the northeastern suburbs of Paris France. It is located 10.9 km. from the center of Paris:

In this case the engraver is on the lower right, Pierre Bequet.

A Maximum card of the canal from ebay:

The other stamp, a semi-postal, I haven't researched yet. Sadly mauve , but why?

I only have a few of these but they certainly would make a nice
display if one had the complete set.

Here are similar ones from Monaco.

I am late and the topic has moved on. However, I did the scans so it's back to Slania and Sweden and the 2000 tribute Souvenir Sheet and proof. Really a "Philatelic" item but I broke down and bought it anyway.

That SS is a masterpiece backroads and I don't think this
workmanship will ever be surpassed.
I especially like the proof in black which in my opinion
I prefer over the issued copy.
You are lucky to have these items.
