b, this is called the "caravel" issue. The same basic design was used in the series of 1910-1924 and the series of 1922-1934. There are a few subtypes of some of them. I didn't do any close looking, but at least one of yours is from the second series.

I think your War Tax is Scott # MR2.

I think you're right. I've never looked at enlargements of that set. Thanks for sharing.

Czechoslovakia is definitely in the top 10 when it comes to engraved stamps in my opinion.

This souvenir sheet was printed in multicolour steel engraving.

Jindra Schmidt who was probably the best Czech engraver apparently
did not like his German surname and therefore signed his
work JINDRA S.
See for example below.

One colour (black) engraving and multicolour photogravure.
Engraver Josef Hercik.

The scene on the painting reminds me somehow of the works of
the 15th century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch.

Andorra, French Admin. 1967. From 16th century frescoes in La Maison des Vallées.
The engraver is Jacques Combet who engraved during his career more than 1300 stamps!

I assume the initials in the lower left are the stamp designer.

What is the meaning of the letters sz after the engraver's initials?

Hi Kirk.

Yes lower left has the designer's initial.
Sc or Sculp is the Latin abbreviation for Sculpsit, which means
He engraved it.
