I don't see anything in Scott or Unitrade that list this as a separate variety so I was wondering what the usual stamp collecting language was to describe it? I got them from Dad who probably used the rest then decided to file them away back in the late '70's when they came out.

This is called "mis-perforated", off center would be on a multi plate stamp one of the plates does not line up. Hope this helps,

Actually, a really nice version of the mis-perf. What is striking to me is that the "postes/postage" is almost completely obliterated by the actually perforations. It almost looks like the words are missing. Thanks for posting.

@Partime - thanks for responding :-) The 'postes/postage' prints out right along the perforations so you can see those parts of the words not punched through.

Here is a close up (thanks to the wife for last year's really cool image enhancer for the cell phone) of the way the perfs and the words work out in one of the cases

Catalogues will only list constant varieties. These mis-perfs are not constant so will never appear in a catalogue.
